Our Impact

T

Giir Foundation is committed to helping children achieve their goals. We aim to reduce youth recidivism and provide hope for them to achieve their goals. We partner with local organizations to help develop our youth network and find mentors to support young people. Through the personal support of a positive role model, we aim to improve academic achievement and social competence as well as learn new skills.
We want to encourage our youth to take responsibility and be accountable for their actions. Overall, we work together towards achieving their both short and long-term goals. With the support of their mentors and available resources, we aim to help youth avoid high-risk behavior issues and make better life choices. Additionally, programs are also available for empowering women.

Where Giir Began

Mustafa Ahmed is the founder of this non-profit organization. His vision is to create a safe environment for all our youth by supporting them with their goals and dreams without judgment or fear from the outside world.
He grew up in Minnesota and experienced a great deal of sorrow growing up, especially in his youth. He lost several friends to violence and drugs. These friends didn’t have anyone to look after them or give them proper guidance during their transition into adulthood. He did his best to learn from their lives and losses in order to better himself and his future. After going through high school and college, he decided to give back to his community by striving to have no youth left behind or lost in the system. He founded Giir to provide them with the support that they need and ensure it’s delivered by people who care. His mission is to make sure he fills the gap in their lives
