At Giir Foundation, our biggest goal is to focus on families by showing support to the women who hold them together. To build any home or business, we have to make sure we have a strong foundation. We believe that in order to have a community full of strong, healthy children, we have to support mothers to better help their children. We focus on their mental health, lifestyle, and overall domestic relationships that might affect the children at home. We have put together a resource book and list of contacts for any woman or mother that needs mental, financial, and housing assistance.

Workshop for Women

For the first time ever in Minnesota, and also in the Somali community, Giir Foundation has created a program focused just on women in the community. This program offers them a chance to attend a 3-day workshop that offers the opportunity to focus on themselves and learn from other successful women. During the program, they can learn new important life skills and set goals for their future

We believe giving those women the chance and the opportunity to leave their homes for just 2-3 days will give them a better outlook on their lives. There is a lot that they do for their families and they always go above and beyond for their children. Giir Foundation wants to show them how much they mean to the world by reminding them who they were before they become parents. Giir Foundation also helps them unlock their goals and rekindle the kind of future they dreamt of for themselves. These two to three-day workshops will give those women the opportunity to achieve a lifetime of success and happiness.

Giir Foundation is honored to be part of something important for women as well as local and global communities. However, we can only do so much by ourselves. That’s why we are asking for your support. Our objective is to have as much help as possible to achieve our goals and complete our mission for women. Life is about giving a second chance to everyone who believes they don’t deserve it.
